Starrett Offers Limited-Edition, Themed Micrometers
The L.S. Starrett Company is releasing two themed micrometers: one based on Camouflage, the other around American Pride.
The L.S. Starrett Company has introduced distinctive American Pride- and Camoflage-themed micrometers. The new limited special edition No. T436.1 themed outside micrometers are available in individual 0-1", 1-2", 2-3" and 3-4" models, as well as in 0-4" sets in custom wooden cases. All of these options are offered in American Pride (No. APT436.1) or Camouflaged (No. CFT436.1) themes that are printed via a special process on the tool’s enamel coated frames.
“We know how proud American machinists and inspectors are of their work, their tools and their country,” says Mr. Tim Cucchi, Precision Hand Tools product manager at Starrett. “We feel these distinctive American-made tools will give the opportunity for skilled workers to express themselves individually on the job.”
Functional gear testing, also known as total radial composite deviation, is a method of looking at the total effect of gear errors. This test method simulates the conditions under which a set of gears is likely to operate as a result of the gears meshing together.
This shop has a plan for dramatically expanding its contract machining business in high-value markets.
Different instruments (and different operators) are prone to different errors.
