Royal Products introduces its Three-Jaw Chuck for CNC lathe workholding. The Royal Multi-Tasking Chuck (MTC) is designed for shops that need the flexibility to quickly switch between small and large-diameter parts, as well as both OD and ID gripping.
The Three-Jaw Chuck incorporates both a Quick-Grip collet system and ID workholding system within a three-jaw chuck for versatility. Once installed, the chuck does not need to be removed from the lathe spindle. Setup time between jobs is said to be reduced as the Royal MTC can enable a user to quickly change between jaw work, collet work and ID work.
The MTC is available in three sizes: 250 mm, 320 mm and 400 mm, accepting Royal QG-65, QG-80 and QG-100 collets. The MTC’s base jaws follow the 60 degree × 1.5 mm standard, which can enable the utilization of a wide range of top tooling.
All Royal MTCs include the appropriate mounting plate, an internal work-stop, a central chip shield and a custom-machined drawtube connector designed for quick installation.
