Interactive Wall Illustrates YCM’s Approach to Industry 4.0
IoT platform developed and refined on the company’s own extensive production campus.
Visitors can see both physical and digital automation on display in YCM’s booth. Five-axis machines interface with FANUC robots to illustrate an affordable automation setup, the company says. And a wall of interactive media displays shows the company’s approach to Industry 4.0, particularly using its iDirect IoT platform.
YCM first developed and refined this system on its own production campus in Taiwan, which includes a foundry and production areas for spindle manufacturing and machine assembly. Using the iDirect platform, machine shops can automatically draw on and analyze machine-tool data to track production status, manage facility utilization and monitor overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), the company says. The system enables shops to link machine tools using various CNCs, as well as manual equipment, to collect production data for real-time shop management and monitoring.
