Doosan’s Lynx 220LSY Series is a range of compact and high-speed multitasking turning centers featuring a Y axis. Non-lifting turret and roller type LM guideways provide high-speed performance and accuracy, the company says. The EZ Guide i conversational programing is designed to make the series quick and easy to set up.
The bed is a single-piece Meehanite casting with a heavy ribbing to prevent deformation and twisting. The guideways are on a 30-degree angle to maintain a minimal and constant distance from tool tip to guideway, ensuring rigidity and resisting deformation under heavy loads, according to the company. The slant angle also provides good chip flow as chips and coolant slide downward into the chip pan.
The linear guideways are roller type for extra load capacity and rigidity. Quality high-precision linear motion guideways are used on all axes to enable high rapid traverse rates of 1,181 ipm in the X axis and 1,417 ipm in the Z axis.
