With the goal of strengthening the growth of additive manufacturing (AM) in Mexico, FITMA – The International Expo of Technology and Manufacturing and AMMA3D – Mexican Association of Additive Manufacturing & 3D signed a cooperation agreement to create a pavilion and conferences for FITMA 2023 devoted to AM.

As a result, this is the seventh pavilion that makes up the most representative exhibition of the metalworking and manufacturing industry in Latin America, organized by technologies: machine tools, inspection and measurement, CAD/CAM and CNC controls, finishing and coatings, cutting tools and workholding systems and AM.

The signing of the partnership agreement between FITMA and AMMA3D is expected to greatly benefit to the AM community in Mexico; this joint effort for FITMA 2023 will expose technologies and capabilities that have never been exhibited in the country, as well as share experiences of users of the technology with the manufacturing community that is beginning to show interest. “This alliance will enable Mexican audiences to witness and learn about the capabilities of new technologies from experts in these technologies, adding value to the decision-making process when adopting additive manufacturing technologies,” says Omar Lopez, general director of AMMA3D.

Claude Mas, executive director of international business at Gardner Business Media, adds, “We, at FITMA, are extremely happy to sign this partnership agreement with AMMA 3D, as FITMA is continually positioning itself as the event not to miss if you are involved in manufacturing in Mexico and the whole LATAM region. Bringing knowledge and content that dives deep into this revolutionary technology is the AMMA3D’s strength. They represent the soul of additive manufacturing in Mexico, and we are really excited to have them as a co-organizer for the Additive Manufacturing Pavilion at FITMA. The global additive manufacturing market is valued at $15 billion dollars and has a CAGR of 21% for the next six years, so it is important for Mexico and LATAM to be aware of this technology and how it can help their manufacturing process. It is one of the most actively sought out technologies by manufacturer’s worldwide, and therefore an important reason for visitors to come see this part of the show at FITMA.”

FITMA is the biennial exhibition that showcases international industrial market activity and investment, focusing on technology and manufacturing for Latin America, connecting leading manufacturers, global equipment manufacturers and suppliers of machinery and services for the metalworking sector for three days of exhibition, technical training and networking experiences.

FITMA is co-presented by Gardner Business Media and AMT – Association For Manufacturing Technology, with the support of the National Auto Parts Industry (INA), the Mexican Federation of the Aerospace Industry (FEMIA), the Mexican Association of Mold and Die Manufacturing (AMMMT), as well as machine tool and manufacturing sector associations around the world, such as the Korea Machine Tool Manufacturers Association (KOMMA), the Taiwan Machinery Industry Association (TAMI), the Taiwan Machine Tool and Accessories Manufacturers Association (TMBA), the Japan Machine Tool Builders Association (JMTBA), the Spanish Association of Machine Tool, Accessories, Components and Tools Manufacturers (AFM) and the Argentine Chamber of Machine Tools and Production Technologies (CARMAHE).
