API vProbe Sensor Offers Production Floor CMM Measurements
API has introduced their vProbe tactile measurement sensor designed for accurate measuring directly on the production floor.
Automated Precision’s new vProbe tactile measuring sensor is designed to perform accurate CMM-style measurements directly on the production floor. Integrated with the API Radian Laser Tracker series, vProbe is intended to significantly enhances the measuring capabilities and functionalities of traditional laser trackers.
The vProbe is a wireless, hand-held, tactile probe with an easy-hold grip. The vProbe allows users to perform extended coordinate measuring functions by inspecting intricate internal and external features or part characteristics for fast and accurate dimensional measurements.
The vProbe is designed to offer greater versatility, accuracy, and consistency than a portable arm CMM; suitable for medium and large parts. The RFID probe stylus recognition feature eliminates the need to manually select the probe stylus, lessening potential for error. Additionally, Smart Buttons minimize trips to the computer to select common functions by integrated them into the probe. Dynamic tactile scanning capability provides near-instant coordinate feedback, and the integrated battery provides six hours of measurement activity. Styli lengths up to 500 mm with a variety of tip sizes can be accommodated.
