Five-Axis Machine for Continuous Milling
GF AgieCharmilles’ five-axis HEM 500U features a dynamic 12,000-rpm spindle and 30-tool magazine providing a chip-to-chip time of 2 sec.
GF AgieCharmilles’ five-axis HEM 500U features a dynamic 12,000-rpm spindle and 30-tool magazine providing a chip-to-chip time of 2 sec. for high-speed continuous milling operations. A 20,000-rpm spindle and 60-tool changer also are available. The machine is said to be well-suited for machining aluminum, alloy and steel parts.
The 19.7"- (500-mm-) diameter trunnion table accommodates workpieces weighing as much as 44 lbs (200 kg). The table tills +50/-110 mm in the B axis and rotates 360 degrees in C for 3+2 machining as well as five-side positioning. X-, Y- and Z-axis travels measure 19.7" × 17.7" × 15.7" (500 × 450 × 400 mm). A distance of 5.9" (150 mm) between the machine spindle nose and rotary table surface enables greater maneuverability around workpieces. A Heidenhain iTNC 530 control for five- (3+2) axis machining features an integrated digital drive control with inverter designed to produce a highly accurate workpiece contour while machining at high velocity.
GF AgieCharmilles also will showcase its Cut 200 wire EDM and Form 20 sinker EDM.
