Horn’s polycrystalline diamond (PCD) milling lineup now includes the DM 50 series, a replaceable head milling system designed for efficient and cost-effective machining of aluminium. This versatile solution is well suited for applications where cycle time is critical.
The DM 50 series delivers a well-engineered approach to performance, flexibility and cost control. The primary wear areas — the head and inserts — can be easily replaced, along with an intermediate sleeve that enables for different cutting heights. This modular design enables quick adaptation to a variety of applications while keeping operating and maintenance costs low.
The tool can be quickly adjusted for different corner radii and chamfers at the desired cutting height. The 2:1 arrangement of inserts on the face and periphery is tailored for diverse milling strategies and application needs. Reliable, precise indexing ensures accurate results with every changeover.
With its optimized axial geometry, the DM 50 enables smooth cutting and excellent surface finishes. These replaceable head milling cutters expand Horn’s broad range of standard and custom ultra-hard cutting tools.
