Greenerd’s 75-ton hydraulic forming press is designed to provide greater control and a more streamlined production process. Specifically designed for medical device manufacturers, the press features a 35-ton cushion cylinder also used as a knockout and a secondary ram-mounted, 20-ton cushion with proportionally controlled speed for the eject function.

The press provides hydraulic clamping for a quick changeover of tooling, plus RFID identification of tooling to prevent the use of incorrect tool sets or mismatched tool programs. The closed loop control of the cooling heaters using a Watlow temperature controller enables each part to be drawn at the same 600°F-temperature within a tolerance of ±1°. Multiple dwell positions and times during each cycle are possible, as well as slow closed-loop processing speed control for drawing tough allow such as titanium. The main RAM has two pressing circuits for a fast press configuration adjustable from 7.2 to 36 ipm, and a slow press setup adjustable from 0.2 to 2.0 ipm. A touchscreen integrates all press and tool controls, including process trending and troubleshooting feedback.
