April 2019 Product Spotlight: Cleaning and Deburring
This month’s Modern Equipment Review Spotlight focuses on equipment used to remove imperfections from and clean finished workpieces.
BvL Oberflächentechnik’s Geyser unit removes swarf and firm burrs with its high-pressure pump, generating a water jet that is used for cleaning, deburring and paint stripping, depending on the requirements. The Geyser cleans components with an adjustable pressure of as much as 3,000 bar and volumetric flow of up to 48 L/min. Read more.
Exair’s 303SS air jets are designed to provide reliable and efficient blowoff and cleaning within corrosive, high-temperature or washdown environments. These 1/8 NPT stainless steel air jets replace open tubes and pipe nipples on parts cleaning, drying and cooling operations. With temperature rated up to 400°F, they will produce up to 1.25 lbs of force upon their target. Read more.
Omegasonics is now offering ultrasonic cleaning machines that are completely customizable. If one of the company’s existing machines does not meet a customer’s requirements, Omegasonics will customize a machine to their specifications. Read more.
Designed for surface removal on demanding production runs, Saint-Gobain Abrasives’ line of Norton double-cut carbide burrs is said to last longer with fewer change-overs on challenging production applications. According to the company, the hardness of the tungsten carbide substrate, stronger tooth formulation due to decreased tooth wedge angle and numerous cutting edges provide extended service life and better stock removal performance. The company also says that the tool achieves smaller, granular chip breaks on hard-to-grind workpieces. Read more.
