GF Machining Solutions’ Form P 350 die-sinking EDM includes precision-enhancing features and integrated technologies that are said to enhance productivity and profitability. A compact C-axis construction, fixed table and cast iron frame offer stability and force reduction to maintain a precise spark gap between the part and electrode. Regardless of part weight or dielectric volume, the machine is said to deliver consistent accuracy and surface finishes of 0.1 micron Ra. Read more.
Sodick has released two models of wire EDMs, the ALN800G (pictured above) and the ALN800GH. These machines are designed to accommodate extra-large work, with X-, Y-, and Z-axis travels ranging to 31.5" × 23.6" × 31.5”, respectively. The generator and control are said to improve accuracy and speed on large parts. Read more.
Makino’s Edge2 and Edge3 EDMs are built to provide accurate and reliable performance for standard die/mold components and contract manufacturing applications. Each features an integral rise-and-fall work tank with unobstructed access to the work zone for setup, which improves visibility to monitor the machining process. An eight-station automatic toolchanger (ATC) extends unattended operation and fully supports robotic automation. Read more.
