Chiron is introducing its vertical twin-spindle five-axis machining center, the DZ08 FX Precision+. The machine includes contact-free linear direct drives in the X, Y and Z axes. These drives bring the spindles to optimum feed rates more quickly and permit increased traverse rates. Compared to the previous model, this machining center produces aluminum components 20 to 50 percent faster. Read more. 

Chevalier Machinery’s UNi5X-400 is a 40-taper, high-speed VMC integrated with a fourth- and fifth-axis table. It is designed for high-speed, high-precision and high-productivity machining in the aerospace, medical and moldmaking industries. Read more.

Mazak’s Variaxis i-300 simultaneous five-axis vertical machining center (VMC) includes a high-capacity auto work changer (AWC) for flexibility and efficiency. Designed for automated small- to medium-size part-processing operations, the VMC is suited for machining aluminum and other nonferrous metals for a variety of industries, including aerospace, medical and automotive. Doosan Machine Tools announces the addition of the DMP 500/2SP to its line of vertical machining centers. Equipped with two spindles and two automatic toolchangers (ATCs), this model is designed for production job shops and high-volume parts manufacturers. Read more.

Okuma America has released the five-axis Genos M460V-5AX vertical machining center, combining full five-axis simultaneous control with rigid, cast iron, double-column construction and a high-speed spindle. These features enable this CNC machine to cut a variety of complex parts and exotic metals with speed and precision. Read more.

Heller Machine Tools has released the HF 5500 five-axis horizontal machining center equipped with pallet changer, offering a work envelope of 900 × 950 × 900 mm and a maximum pallet load of 750 kg. The machining center enables swivel movements of the rotary table from 30 through 120 degrees, and it can move through 225 degrees with restrictions. Hermle’s C 650 five-axis machining center is an extension of the Performance Line series, now providing three machine models for five-axis machining, including the C 250 and C 400. The C 650 uses a modification of the company’s gantry-type design with a mineral-cast machine bed. The swiveling rotary table can accommodate workpieces weighing 1,500 kg, and having diameters of 900 × 600 mm. Read more.
